Scene created with Unreal Engine. For the terrain, I used Gaea and created an auto-material for the landscape. However, I had to manually rework some areas to achieve the desired look. For the ocean, I utilized the Oceanology plugin, which made the ocean creation task easier compared to the headaches caused by Unreal's water plugin. In addition to using some Megascans assets for the terrain and objects, I also created assets in Blender and Maya, such as ship pieces, ruins, and the lighthouse. While I incorporated Megascans textures in some cases, the materials are custom-made, allowing me to add variety without using many materials, in fact there is only two materials for all the ruins.
Alongside the Megascans foliage, I also added my own palm trees created with SpeedTree.
I used the Cloth system for the flag and employed a free character from the Epic Marketplace for animating a simple scene in the Movie Render Queue. For clouds, I utilized Unreal's new VDB system and crafted a custom material for better control. Finally, for video editing, I initially started with Movie Render Queue, but it was quite buggy. I ended up exporting some shots to Davinci Resolve, where I completed the work. For static scenes, I added a more dramatic alternative version of the same scenes.
